She founded "Find A Cure Stable, LLC" to race horses for the benefit of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

O'Cain and her husband, Dr. C. Lynwood O'Cain, are long-time residents of Saratoga Springs and for 23 years the couple managed Highcliff Farm in nearby Delanson and helped bring the farm – the largest breeding farm in New York State –  to National prominence, where it ranked #10 among breeding farms in the U.S.

Commenting on the development, John Moore, Chairman of the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation stated: "There is no one I know who could bring as much positive energy, love and understanding of both horses and horse care,  and hands-on farm management expertise to the TRF. She also had years of experience in dealing with bureaucrats and politicians in Albany, and that is an area where we can certainly use some help.  I am thrilled that she has joined our leadership team. "

Diana Pikulski, a Director of the TRF, longtime Executive Director and current Director of External Affairs for the TRF, added: "I have known and admired Suzie for years. The depth of her involvement in Saratoga’s racing and social life will be a great asset to the TRF. I look forward to working closely with her to build our ties to this wonderful community."

O'Cain's election brings the Board membership up to eight directors.  Founded in 1983 and based in Saratoga Springs, NY, TRF is the oldest and largest charity in the US providing retraining and lifetime care for thoroughbred horses.  Through its 17 satellite farms and farms at 9 correctional facilities, TRF cares for 962 horses, with another 44 at a handful of foster farms throughout the country.
