TRF Party at BRAVO! Draws 200 Great Friends

Saratoga Springs, NY – July 28, 2016 – Approximately 200 people attended the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation’s Fourth Annual “Hay, Oats & Spaghetti” dinner on July 25, at Bravo!
raising more than $20,000 for the worlds’ oldest and largest Thoroughbred rescue organization.
Hosted for the fourth time by Bravo! owners Giuseppe and Lauren Grisio, who donated their restaurant, staff, food, beer and wine for the event.
“Hay, Oats & Spaghetti has gotten bigger each year,” said TRF Board member Suzie O’Cain. “It is like a giant family gathering where everyone laughs and sings and has a great time all for the benefit of the horses that bring us all together. We cannot thank Giuseppe and Lauren enough for their incredible generosity.”
Among those present on July 25th were Thoroughbred owners Chester and Mary Broman; Tom Mina; Joe and Mary Grant; trainers H. James Bond and his wife, Tina; Mike Hushion, Rick Schosberg and his wife, Dawn; Carl Domino and his wife, Sophia, and John Jayko; Loretta Lusteg, assistant to trainer John Kimmel; Tom Bellhouse, Chief Operating Officer of West Point Thoroughbreds; Sarah Dunham, Director of Questroyal Stud North; former jockey agent Bob Frieze and his wife, Julie; public handicapper Kevin Cox; former TRF Board member Hayward R. Pressman and his wife, Donna; and Thomas Gallo III and Jeff Cannizzo, president and executive director, respectively, of the New York State Breeders’ Inc. Live Music was generously donated by Chris Dollard, Terry Zarrillo, and Ed Tourge.
Michael Veitch, longtime turf writer for The Saratogian and author, donated proceeds from his books Foundations of Fame: Nineteenth Century Thoroughbred Racing in Saratoga Springs, and Summit of Champions: Thoroughbred Racing in Saratoga Springs 1901-1955.
