Bold Mon

Foaled in 2003 (17 years old).  This sweet grey/roan gelding had a successful racing career, earning over $160,000 in 21 starts. Bold Mon joined our herd in 2008 and lives at TRF Second Chances Farm at the Wallkill Correctional Facility. This summer (2020) he has traveled to Saratoga to be a Herd Ambassador at the TRF Summer Farm, along with his buddy “Joey” Uptown Joe. Bold Mon will be featured on News10 “Horse Connection” on Friday, July 24th.

According to his former trainer, Rick Schosberg “When Bold Mon was running he was a fierce competitor and absolutely loved racing. Since he’s been at Wallkill he is so laid-back and friendly and he just absolutely loves the attention that the inmates give him. It is much deserved for a warrior like him and it is great therapy for the inmates and they all absolutely love him!”

According to everyone who meets him, he is a lovable, even-tempered pasture pet. He simply adores people (and cameras). He would be a very good companion and would absolutely love to have his own family of humans to play with.
