Gosford

Color: Chestnut

Sex: Gelding

Height: 16

Foaled: 2/25/2002

Sire: Mr. Greeley

Dam: By Invitation Only

Gosford is a 2012 gelding who ran 24 times with earnings of $32,000. He was previously adopted, and recently returned to the TRF through no fault of his own. He is a great great grandson of Secretariat, and certainly looks it!

Gosford has a well earned barn name: Mr. P, which we’ve been told stands for Mr. Perfect. He has training through Second Level Dressage, and has proven to be a quiet and steady horse under saddle.  He stands well for the farrier, and trailers easily. He has experience with riders of all ages, though we think he would benefit from an older rider who can really appreciate all he has to offer. We were able to ride him after over a month off with no behavioral issues.

He does have some problems with his hocks, they are currently in the process of fusing. He is sound for light riding but may be capable of much more with a regimen of Equioxx or something similar until he’s fused. He also requires front shoes for regular work.
