In Loving Memory – William J. Phelan, Jr.

William J. Phelan, Jr. was an avid horseman whose love for horses and the sport of thoroughbred racing was unmatched.  He shared that love with his family and especially his daughters taking them to breakfast at Saratoga to watch the horses train.  He was a breeder and owner, and one of his proudest moments was watching a horse he bred win his first race.  Days at Saratoga, riding the pony, going to the paddock on race day, handicapping and watching the races were some of his happiest moments.  To honor him, continue his legacy, his love for these magnificent animals and the sport, please consider a donation to the Thoroughbred Retirement Foundation.
